FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

Can I pick up my online order in the Vintage Voudou store in Amsterdam?
Yes! Make sure you select the 'Local Pickup' option when you check out your order. This will add a 'Local pickup' product to the cart which sets the shipping to zero. Your order will then be available in the shop on the next day we're open (or call/mail us if you need it the same day).

How much do you charge for shipping?
For orders under €125, we offer cheap shipping (registered with tracking) via the German post office. You will find the combined shipping fee upon checkout. Orders over €125 are only sent via the Netherlands post office (registered with tracking and insurance) for a flat fee of €25. Please select the 'Registered and insured shipping' option if your order exceeds €125.

Do you offer combined shipping?
Yes, where possible we will ship all your records in one package to save on shipping.

How soon will you ship my order?
Orders under €125 are shipped once a week, on Friday, via the German post office. If you order was placed any time after 4pm on Friday (Amsterdam time), your parcel will be shipped the next Friday. Orders over €125 are shipped via the Dutch post and will generally be sent out within three working days.

Where is the Vintage Voudou store?
See the address and a map here.

I didn't receive my parcel, what should I do?
Please contact us first if you are waiting for your parcel and it has not arrived. We ship once a week (on Friday) so it may take a few days before your parcel enters the postal system. Expensive records are always sent via registered mail. After you ordered and paid and we shipped the parcel, we will give you the tracking code.

I have a problem with the grading
If you received your records, and you find the grading is not as described or there is another issue that we may have overlooked, contact us and we will work out a solution.

Is it true that you have an undiscovered William Onyeabor record?
See for yourself here.

What are the online payment options?
You can pay via Paypal (and Paypal will let you pay with a credit card, even if you don't have an account). If you have a Dutch bank account you may also use IDEAL. If you prefer a bank transfer or cash when you want to pick up from the store in Amsterdam, please mail or phone us.

Do you give out discount codes?
Yes, we occasionally send out discount codes which you can use upon checkout. Follow us on Facebook or Instagram, or subscribe to the newsletter to make sure you get one.

What's the price in my currency?
You can select your own currency at the bottom of the page (dropdown) to see an estimate of what the item costs in U$, UK pound etc. When you check out, the total is in Euro. Paypal will convert your payment, so if you pay using, for example, a U$ account we will receive Euros.

Is it safe to buy via this store?
Your order is safe. We use the Shopify cart system, and payments are handled via Paypal, so your purchase is protected in similar ways to an Ebay or Discogs order.

Do you accept Best Offers?

We are always open to offers. Mail us your best offer, but remember somebody else may still buy the record until we accept the offer and unlist the record.

Do you accept trades?
If you have records you think are of interest to us, let us know

Can I send a want list?
If you are looking for specific records, tell us. We have more records than you see online, so there's a chance that we may have, or may find it.

Where's your buyer feedback?
Check out our Discogs and Ebay accounts to see what previous buyers had to say (1400 positive feedback on each account, thus far).

Do you buy records?
We buy (mostly tropical) records, from a few to larger collections, and we pay fair prices. If you are in or near the Netherlands and have records for sale that you think are of interest to Vintage Voudou, let us know.

How do you grade?
Our grading is visual and we follow the Goldmine standard for describing condition, however we will occasionally use the 'EX' grade for vinyl that is just a inaudible hairline scuff away from Near Mint. We generally listen to at least a part of the record and we may describe the play grade in the description. When we include a audio snippet, this will give a good indication of how the record plays.
